The local town of Horsham has some great shopping, and is the perfect size for our students to explore and have some free time.
Our course takes place in one of the most impressive private schools in the United Kingdom. Set in large beautiful grounds, Christ’s Hospital School has a lot to offer visiting students including tremendous facilities for learning, sports and activities.
The school’s facilities include a grand Victorian dining room that houses the largest painting in Europe; and a theatre built to resemble Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London. Christ’s Hospital also boasts superb modern facilities including modern classrooms with smartboards, a large indoor sports complex, Astroturf and tennis courts.
These wonderful facilities, the traditional and the modern, are all set within a huge 500-hectare estate.
Accommodation
Most of the accommodation is in comfortable study bedrooms in one of eight residential houses set on their own private avenue either side of the main school quadrangle. Each one has large common rooms and relaxation rooms on the ground floor for students relax and spend time when they are not in English classes or doing activities.
Each house has its own entrance with digital security code on the front door. Most of the rooms are twins or singles, but there are also some triples and quads. Bathroom facilities are shared.
One of the houses is made up solely of single rooms, each with their own wash basin. They are divided into “pods” – 5 or 6 bedrooms on a corridor sharing a small kitchen and bathroom facilities.
This house also has its own entrance with a digital security code on the front door as well as a large common room for students to relax in.
Catering
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are taken in the school dining hall. The excellent menus include vegetarian meals as well as a selection of hot and cold dishes together with a salad bar. A full English breakfast is served twice weekly with continental breakfast on the other days.

At the end of the sightseeing tour, students have some free time to visit some shops and buy souvenirs.

Horsham (half day visits)
Horsham, on the River Arun, is the nearest town to Christ's Hospital School so we always give our students the opportunity to visit, look around this lively market town and do some shopping.
The town itself is an interesting mix of traditional English architecture and modern facilities. Many building in Horsham date from the 18th century (and earlier) but there is also a modern covered shopping centre and all the main British retailers are represented.
London #2 (3 week programme)
In a city like London, there is always something interesting to do. On the second excursion students will have the chance to visit some of London’s wonderful museums, markets, art galleries or parks. There will also be chances to explore a new part of London, such as Covent Garden, the City, or Oxford Street, to fit in some shopping, or just soak up the atmosphere of the capital.

Arundel is a picturesque market town on the River Arun, only 20 minutes from Christ’s Hospital by train. It is most famous for its spectacular castle which overlooks the town. The town is surrounded by the South Downs National Park. Our students have the opportunity to walk around the outside of the castle, explore the cobbled streets and unique shops and spend some free time by the river on this half day excursion.
