Elac Education Trust

Our Programmes

Elac works with partners to identify areas of the world where students lack the financial resources to join our UK programmes. The courses are similar to those we run in the UK but on a smaller scale, and participating students are selected on a needs basis, regardless of ethnicity and gender. We then work closely with our partners to create a suitable course and recruit volunteers to run them.

To date, our courses have been in the following places:

  • 2015 Iksal, Israel
  • 2016 Saknin, Israel
  • 2017 Nazareth, Israel
  • 2018 Dobra Niva, Slovakia
  • 2024 Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria

Our Volunteers

Elac selects existing staff – both teachers and activity leaders – who are interested in volunteering. This is a great opportunity to travel, learn more about a different culture, and make a difference to students’ lives. Flights and expenses are covered, and volunteers stay with host families. Volunteers also have free time to explore nearby places of interest, and sightseeing tours are organised.

Interested?

We are always keen to identify other areas of the world where we can run similar projects. Please contact us if you have any suggestions.

What people say about us

Charles Fletcher (Volunteer Teacher)
“Working for Elac trust was easily one of the best and most unique experiences of my life. We all had oportunities to see a side of these cultures and countries that can't be bought from a travel agents with the oportunity to meet and work with people from that community and make lasting friendships with the families I came into contact with”.
